Scope of Care
We serve the vast population of immigrants and residents under language and socio -economic disadvantages that pose as barriers in the access of needed mental care to children, adolescents, adults and families that can be at risk in our community.
ACA also offers mental health, psychiatric, social work, and other support services. ACA offers our services in an individual, group, and family setting, to ensure that all of your needs can be met.
ACA Family Counseling accepts most insurances including:
- Commonwealth Care Alliance
- In- office clinical consultants and treatments
- Latency/ adolescents stabilization
- Play therapy for children
- Substance abuse counseling
- Therapeutic mentoring services (TM)
Family Support and Stabilization :
Focusing at skills building of client and parents, strengthening family, assisting with transition without placement from home in collaboration with DCF, relationships and building a support network of community supports and other resources in the community as evidenced by promoting a safe, stable home life, and prevent out of placement or providing supports to the families in the reunification process. Assisting the families with supervised visitation for children in foster care, parenting workshops, and educate the young parents youth to support program.
The services offered/provided through our FSS program include Family Stabilization teams involved qualified skilled flexible Master Level Clinicians with many years of experience and expertise with the FSS program, trained paraprofessional such as Therapeutic Mentor, and TT&S , Family Partner. The FSS Clinicians /Caseworkers have experience with: Refugee/Immigrant population , intensive , placement in the foster home , reunification from out -of home placement , housing resources, access to employment and community resources, In home -crisis response , Mental health , Developmental disabilities , Medication management /Psychiatric referral, Access to education resources, such as (IEP), Court , Trauma -informed care.
Why ACA Family counseling services Inc involved DCF (Department of children’s and Family) because the referrals can only be made by DCF Family networks.
ACA have been working with DCF since our existence in the Lawrence area due to no wait list and put our client as a priority by delivering the best quality of care and there are staff available to meet the client per DCF request according to the needs. ACA received multiples referrals from DCF and work in collaboration and partnerships. The ACA counseling services services/ FSS staff work closely with families and DCF to prevent crisis, out of placement, and provide support to the families through the reunification process. Our FSS services are provided twice a week. The home/ outreach visits focus on strengthening family relationships, providing support/psychoeducation for parents /Foster parents /caregivers, increase safety, develop the plan of reunification, providing support to the youth in improving relationships with parent assistance training, navigating other systems:
